Hello! I'm Nancy, so glad you are here! Come in and look around.....

Art Inspired by Love of Local

I believe that the places we live and the nature we walk past every day shape who we are. As a mixed-media artist, I create vibrant, layered artwork that celebrates our shared spaces—from iconic city landmarks to the hidden botanical treasures in our neck of the woods. There is something to be said for walking amongst trees where pioneers once walked and looked up at the same tree. Did they feel as awestruck as we do?

My Journey: From the Prairies to the Pacific

  • Edmonton Roots: I am originally from Edmonton, Alberta, where my art journey begins to develop. The beautiful sunsets and long summer nights always set my creative juices flowing.
  • West Coast Bound: In 1999, I moved to British Columbia and instantly fell in love with Vancouver and the west coast vibe, including its urban forests. It just felt like I had come home.  As much as I appreciated growing up in the prairies, I knew I had to stay when I found my heart, my husband,  in 2005.
  • Port Moody Home: After moving a few times, within the Vancouver mainland, we landed on Port Moody in 2015 . For the past decade it has been my backyard, my community, and my creative muse.(my primary muse position is taken by my husband). POMO is the city of the arts, after all.
  • Canadian to the core: I am a passionate supporter of local and Canadian makers. I'm always looking for that local maker to fill my needs, before looking elsewhere. Putting our hard earned money back into our community has an exponential positive benefit, that will hopefully become everyone's go-to habit.
My Art & Process

My signature style of mixed media uses an intuitive blend of mono-printing, hand-cut collage, acrylic paint. This tactile, multi-layered approach allows me to capture the energy, texture, and movement of our local environments. My collections primarily focus on two streams:

  • The Urban Forest: Botanical artwork crafted using plant silhouettes and organic inspiration gathered directly from the rich urban forests of Port Moody.
  • Cityscapes & Local Venues: Textured architectural and landscape pieces featuring specific, beloved Port Moody venues and the familiar skylines of Greater Vancouver.
Find Your Perfect Piece

Art should be accessible to every wall and budget. My collections are available in two primary formats:

  • Mixed Media Canvas Prints: Large-scale, statement artwork available on gallery-wrapped canvases up to 30x40".
  • Accessible Fine Art Prints: Carefully curated, smaller-format prints perfect for gifting, gallery walls, or compact spaces.
